A guide to this year’s Summer Sale

Today marks the first day of the Soldes, or sales, the bi-annual Parisian shopping event of the year. From June 24th until August 4th, shops throughout Paris, from concept boutiques to shopping malls, will mark down their inventory much to the delight of eager shoppers. Private sales, special events, longer opening hours, and major mark downs are all part of the unique shopping event. To help you navigate your way through the shopping frenzy, we’ve rounded up the top four places to check out offering a variety of goods at unbelievable prices.

Shopping Mall: Centre Commercial Beau Grenelle (12 Rue Linois, 75015 Paris)
Open since October, The Beau Grenelle Shopping Mall in the 15th arrondissement is one of the most recent shopping mall additions to open in Paris. It’s modern, spacious, and features over 120 ready-to-wear brands, making it an ideal shopping destination, especially during the sales. Take advantage of the special opening hours, including a Thursday “nocturnal” night and a special opening on Sunday, June 28th from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. From June 24th until June 26th the center will be participating in Les Horaires Heureues, a special foodie night which proposes tapas for just 2 euros- the perfect way to end or start a day of sales.

Luxury: Bon Marché (24 rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris)
With an array of international renowned designers and a superb selection of everything from home ware to clothing and shoes, the sales at Le Bon Marché never disappoint. Arrive bright and early at 8 a.m. on Wednesday when the store opens and be among the first to pick up the best items. If you can’t make it during the week, stop by for the exceptional Sunday store opening on June 28th from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. While you can easily spend the entire day browsing each department on the four floors, make a special trip to the lingerie section for some outstanding deals on beautiful pieces. A day of sale shopping calls for a pick me up, stop by the Rose Bakery tea room located on the 2nd floor for a healthy, filling lunch.

Outlet: La Vallée Village (3 cours de la Garonne 77700 Serris)
Make a special trip outside of Paris to visit the outlet stores. Here you will find some of the biggest French and international brands for a fraction of the normal retail price including Sandro, Maje, The Kooples, Givenchy, Lacoste, Kenzo, Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren, Armani and much more. Throughout the year you will find great deals on these designer items and it’s only gets better come sale season. There is lots to take in here, luckily the outlet stores are open seven days each week and will be offering exceptional shopping hours for the Summer sales with opening hours starting at 9 a.m. on June 24th, June 27th, and June 28th.

Specialty Shop: Taschen Books (2 rue de Buci, 75006 Paris)
Shop the big stores the first day and save the second day for Taschen, the fantastic, chic bookstore in the Odeon neighborhood of the 6th arrondissement. Find fantastic deals on coffee table books and artsy calendars during the limited sale from June 25th until June 28th. In celebration of the soldes event, Taschen is also organizing a special “selfie” contest in which participating contestants can win up to $10,000 in Taschen books.
